1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Sadhana ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Sadhana is a Hindu spiritual companion application for Android providing daily Panchang with auspiciousness calculations, a japa counter with mala tracking, Bhagavad Gita shlokas, mantras, stotras, aartis and spiritual quotes, personalized guidance based on Vedic astrology principles, and a daily spiritual routine planner with reminders. The App is intended for personal spiritual practice and educational purposes only.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. User Accounts

The App uses anonymous authentication by default — no account or registration is required. You may optionally link an email address to enable cross-device sync and backup. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the App for any unlawful purpose; reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it; attempt unauthorized access to any part of the App or its backend; distribute spam or malicious content through it; or use automated scripts or bots to access it.

6. Spiritual Content Disclaimer

The spiritual content in this App — Panchang calculations, auspiciousness guidance, Nakshatra-based recommendations, mantras and shlokas — is provided for informational and spiritual enrichment purposes only. It is not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice.

Vedic astrological calculations (Tara Balam, Chandra Balam, Panchang) follow traditional Hindu astronomical methods; we make no warranty that they are accurate, complete, or fit for any specific purpose. We are not liable for decisions made based on the App's content — you are solely responsible for your own choices and actions.

7. Intellectual Property

App content: the App's software, design, interface and original content (including the Sadhana name and logo) are owned by the developer and protected by applicable intellectual property law.

Traditional texts: the Bhagavad Gita shlokas, mantras, stotras, aartis and other classical texts are part of the public domain of Hindu scripture. Translations and transliterations are original works of the developer or used under appropriate license.

Restrictions: you may not copy, reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from the App's proprietary content without explicit written permission. Personal, non-commercial use for your own practice is permitted.

8. User-Generated Content

The App does not currently allow users to submit or publish content visible to other users. Birth details, preferences and personal information you enter are private and used solely to personalize your experience — see our Privacy Policy.

9. Third-Party Services

The App uses Supabase (database and authentication backend) and Expo / React Native (app runtime framework), each subject to its own terms. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services.

10. Availability and Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the App at any time, with or without notice, and will endeavour to notify you of material changes in-app.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed INR 500.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
